Campus-wide IT Authentication Platform Service

Multi-Factor Authentication(MFA)

Campus-wide IT Authentication Platform Service is introducing Multi-factor Authentication ("MFA") to verify off-campus network access to the SSO System (My Handai, KOAN, CLE, etc.).

Please refer to the link below for details:

Types of authentication

1.Mobile application authentication (recommended)

Mobile application is used to display a 6-digit code to the user's smartphone when logging in to the SSO System. Entering that code into the registration field will complete the registration process. If you have a smartphone, please use this method. Tablets can also be used to register.

※Attention※ For those already using the Microsoft Authenticator app
If you are already using the Microsoft Authenticator app to access services such as ICHO or OUMail, due to increased security, you will also need to register again separately to access other SSO Systems (My Handai, KOAN, CLE, etc.). With this separate registration for the other services, a 6-digit code will be required to be entered each time, instead of simply pressing OK, for authentication.

About MFA

2.Other methods

This method uses a browser add-on (extension) (Firefox or Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge). Complete your registration by entering the 6-digit code displayed by the browser extension in the code entry field when logging in.In this case, when accessing from off-campus, you need to take your PC which you used for MFA registration. If you do not have a portable device(smartphone, tablet, laptop, etc.) and wish to register MFA with the browser add-on at multiple locations, please refer to the More Info page

MFA system

  1. MFA is required for network access from off-campus
  2. Pre-registration period: 90 days
  3. Maximum number of temporary release: 5
